Take me Home!

Boxer

Do you want a 70-lb lap dog? A canine clown? They look tough and dangerous, but they are playful dogs who never lose their puppy silliness. Unfortunately, many people assume that Boxers will make good attack or guard dogs based on their appearance and then don't want tham anymore when they find out how misleading looks can be. These big softies also cannot stand heat or cold, so leave them home if you are going to go ice-climbing. At the same time, they need plenty of exercise, so maybe it would be best if you live in the Virgin Islands, so your Boxer can jog outdoors without it being too hot or too cold for him/her! Seriously, they are very affectionate dogs (although at times they can be stubborn) and like many large dogs they are good with children. If you want to know why they are called Boxers, just put two of them together and watch them stand on their hind legs swinging at each other. Sarge begging also looks like he might be boxing. Boxers have short, smooth coats that offer little protection from the cold. Colors are fawn (tan) like Joe and brindle with white markings like Boffatab (dark brindle) or Sarge (tan brindle).
